today employs a staff of 18. The company deals mainly with technical and scientific
publications and concentrates on the mining, energy and raw materials industries, as well as
on geotechnics and tunnel construction, environmental issues and mining and energy related legislation.
VGE Verlag produces:
– Technical journals (including Glückauf, Felsbau, geotechnik and others), some of which
have an international readership;
– Specialist mining books, including the Yearbook of the European Energy and Raw Materials Industry, and a variety of conference proceedings;
– Loose-leaf editions, geo-economic wallmaps and electronic publishing products, including
the CD-ROM version of the Yearbook.
For many years VGE Verlag has operated a mail-order bookshop that can supply not only in-house publications but also books, loose-leaf works and periodicals from domestic and overseas publishers. The VGE mail-order department mainly supplies commercial clients,
but also counts schools, universities, libraries and other groups among its customers.
