Contents of the Energy YearbookThe Yearbook of the European Energy and Raw Materials Industry contains more than 1,100 pages and is arranged in nine sections covering mining, the oil and gas industry, the electricity industry, energy distribution, environmental protection and natural resources management, trade, authorities, training and research and multi-sector organisations. These are supported by a chapter on statistics containing more than 100 tables and 10 charts, along with a buyer’s guide for industrial equipment and services. The Yearbook concludes with a register of companies, authorities and organisations followed by an index of persons and an index of advertisers. Extracts of some pages in PDF format provide detailed information on the contents of the Yearbook. The Yearbook lists over 4,000 companies, organisations and authorities, as well as some 15,000 key figures complete with job title and position. The individual entries include details of shareholders and associates, sponsors, supervisory bodies, executive boards, management, operating facilities, plant locations, subsidiaries and affiliates, business objectives, capital, turnover, output, sales and number of employees, where appropriate. This information is researched and updated on an annual basis. Foreign entries are mainly given in English, as well as in the national language. The Yearbook contains information on all the member countries of the European Union, Switzerland and all the new applicant countries and also covers many international organisations and authorities. As well as text entries many of the individual sections contain comprehensive tables and lists detailing, for example, North Sea production platforms and European power stations, as well as all energy supply companies, waste incineration plants and storage dams in Germany. The Yearbook is also crammed full of figures and maps showing mineral resources, power stations, power supply systems and administrative districts in the different European countries. The reference work comprises a series of geo-economic maps showing raw materials sources and energy supply lines. These include charts on oil and gas production, the European gas pipeline system, oil refinieries and pipelines and interconnected electricity supply grids. Some of these maps are reduced-scale versions or extracts taken from the wall map series. All entries in the Yearbook are contained in the attached CD-ROM as an indexed database. This allows a full-text and/or individual-field search to be carried out quickly and easily. All search results can be exported for the reader’s own use. Each table reproduced in the Yearbook is also available in Excel format, some of these digital files being more detailed and more comprehensive than the hardcopy version. The CD-ROM also contains a wealth of additional information in PDF format that goes beyond the scope of the Yearbook: more than 15,000 pages of statistical data, energy-market dossiers and selected annual reports combine to produce an unparalleled survey of the energy industry. The Yearbook with CD-ROM is available at VGE Verlag, either online by using the online order form, by email to vertrieb@vge.de or by fax using the PDF order form. |
